About This Plant

Compact Ludwigia with warm olive-to-red tones

Ludwigia sphaerocarpa is an uncommon stem plant that grows unusually compact underwater, displaying warm orange-brown to red tones under strong lighting. It responds well to high light with deeper coloration and benefits from CO2 supplementation and a nutrient-rich substrate. Prune and replant tops to maintain bushy, full growth.

What's Included

Each plant ships in a sealed 120 mL sterile culture vessel (60 mm base). Laboratory-grown in vitro under controlled conditions — pest-free, algae-free, and ready to plant.

How to Prepare

Tissue culture plants arrive in a nutrient gel or liquid medium. Rinse this off completely before planting — leftover media can fuel algae growth in your tank.

  1. Remove the plant from the cup and gently pull apart into small portions.
  2. Rinse thoroughly under cool running tap water to wash away all gel or liquid media.
  3. For stubborn gel, soak the portions in a bowl of clean water for a few minutes, then rinse again.
  4. Plant the portions directly into your substrate — space them out to encourage even spread and growth.
