Utricularia graminifolia - Tissue Culture

₱800.00 PHP

Utricularia graminifolia (UG) is a bright, lime-green carpeting plant with an ultra-fine grass look. A favorite for nature-style aquascapes, it forms a dense, low mat when conditions are stable. UG is a true aquatic carnivorous bladderwort (harmless to fish/shrimp) and can be finicky during the first weeks—best results in mature, CO₂-injected tanks.

Tissue Culture Advantages
Pest-free, algae-free, and disease-free—100% in-vitro grown for the cleanest possible start.

Key Specs

  • Placement: Foreground carpet
  • Growth Rate: Moderate (faster once established)
  • Light: Medium–High
  • CO₂: Required for reliable carpeting
  • Difficulty: Advanced
  • Portion: 1 sealed tissue culture cup (multiple tufts/runners)

How to Acclimatize & Transfer

  1. Remove plant from cup and rinse off all gel.
  2. Divide into small tufts (~0.5–1 cm).
  3. Plant very shallowly with fine tweezers, spacing tufts 2–3 cm apart; do not bury.
  4. Keep parameters stable in a fully cycled tank; start with a 6–7 hr photoperiod and increase gradually.
  5. After 2–3 weeks, trim and replant runners to thicken the carpet.

Proper Disposal
Do not discard gel or plant material in natural waterways. Mix gel with household waste, and dry or freeze unwanted plant material before discarding.

Note: Each purchase includes one sealed tissue culture cup, carefully packed for safe delivery.
